Production Updates - Part 2

Alright y’all, it’s been a productive week. Chinese New Year is over and I’m getting everything ordered from my manufacturers. The other fun thing that I’ve started is contracting a Pixar/Disney animator to animate a startup animation for the gauge with Eggy as the main feature. More to come on that next update. Here’s some more details about what has gone down.
Manufacturer Test Mode
I've had a secret mode for the manufacturer in the gauge for a while now, this will help them quality control everything much quicker than trying to setup the whole gauge. The screen shows temperature in celsius when a temp sensor is connected for all the ports on the back and the raw value from the photoresistor is shown. I created a comprehensive doc that the manufacturer will run through for every single gauge to ensure that things are working properly before they get to you.
Stickers Ordered
Shoutout to Design Shop React for the quick work. I messaged him on Sunday with the deets for the stickers and he had them shipped out to me by Wednesday. I should have them in hand next week.
Ordered Sensors/Wiring Harnesses
After hiccups with unlabeled wiring harnesses with past customer installs I am very excited to get some harnesses that are labeled so it will be harder to mix up the sensors when installing on your gauge. I also opted to extend the harnesses for people who have mid/rear engine vehicles or want to have a very specific path of tucking their sensor harnesses. The packaging has been fully redesigned and will match the gauge box!
Ordered Shirts
Shirts have been ordered and are starting production. Unfortunately only a few people ordered the “Hardcore” shirt and it won’t make financial sense for me to do a run of those. If you are one of the few that ordered that shirt I’ll be emailing you directly to discuss either a refund, or free swap for the Eggy shirt.
Refactoring OBDII
There were 56 people who responded to my last email wanting OBDII adapters. I’ve prioritized finalizing the OBDII code so I can get the adapters made ASAP and then open up pre-orders for those as well. I’m working hard to see if I can get everything together on that front before the shipment of the gauges, I’ll keep you updated.
See you in two weeks!
