Production Updates Part 7

Production Updates Part 7

OBDII Adapters

OBDII adapters are in my warehouse and ready for shipment. With everything I need to do to get ready for the production gauge shipment I have been lagging on getting OBDII support finished.

If you are itching to get an OBDII adapter with your initial shipment respond back to this email with your order number or email you purchased the gauge from and I'll send you an invoice for $30 and add it on to your order. The adapter likely won't be ready to use when the order ships out but I will have an update soon to enable support for it.

Tariffs and Shipping

Damn, international commerce is crazy right now. The gauges are done with manufacturing and are being shipped from China to my warehouse. 🎉 Same with the sensors. I've opted to ship everything by AIR so they will be arriving much sooner than originally anticipated. It's still a little TBD on the timing but likely ~2 weeks to arrive in the U.S. and another 2 weeks to test/intake before I can ship them out to y'all. Manufacturing was done quicker, shipping is quicker, which means y'all should be receiving everything much sooner than previously expected.

Tariffs are making things a lot more complicated and more expensive. The cheapest and highest quality place to get electronics made is China. Most components to make electronics are made in China and so even if I move assembly over here tariffs will still apply to all the components which raises prices.

For this order I'm absorbing the cost of the tariffs and next pre-order I'll be raising prices for the United States. I'm planning on opening orders for international sales next pre-order, when I do that I will be able to offer a cheaper price to international orders compared to orders from the United States because I won't need to import the product to the U.S. (and pay tariffs on those orders) before shipping to the international customers. Feels wild that I'll be charging people in my country more for the same product.

Respond back if you have any questions it's going to be an exciting next couple weeks!
