What's included

OBDII compatibility

Available readings depend on the vehicle, ECU and supported OBD-II protocol. Confirm compatibility with your stock CAN-bus vehicle and the readings you want before ordering.

Make it your own

  • Choose an analog or digital gauge face.
  • Upload a 240 × 240 JPG background, or customize your analog background and needle.
  • Connect up to four independent sensors and display up to four readings at once.
  • Set warning thresholds with visual and audible alerts.

This bundle includes one OBDII adapter. You can connect up to four independent sensors to the gauge and display up to four readings at once. Additional sensors and adapters are available separately to expand your setup.

Additional Flock sensor options

Installation

Connect through the vehicle's OBD-II port following the setup guide. This bundle does not include independent analog sensors. The OBDII adapter is different from the separate, unreleased CANbus adapter for aftermarket ECUs.

Review the Flock Gauge user manual and car setup guides before ordering. For setup help, email hello@flock-mfg.com with your vehicle details and the readings you want.

For off-road use only.

Does it work with my car?

The Flock Gauge can use compatible independent sensors, or the current Flock OBD-II adapter to read available ECU data on supported stock CAN-bus vehicles. Confirm your vehicle, protocol and desired readings before choosing an OBD-II setup.

See the setup notes for Miata, 240SX, Civic, or the full car setup guides.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it work with my car?

Compatibility depends on your setup:

  • The current Flock OBD-II adapter reads available ECU data on supported stock CAN-bus vehicles. An OBD-II port or model year alone does not confirm compatibility.
  • Compatible independent sensors can be wired directly to the gauge. Check the sensor output, wiring, mounting location and any vehicle-specific installation adapters.

If you are not sure, DM @flock_mfg with your year, make, model, engine, ECU and the readings you want before ordering.

Why choose Flock over a basic single-sensor gauge?

A $40 gauge shows one sensor. The Flock Gauge shows up to 4 sensors, lets you add/change as you go and is extremely customizable. If you decide you want to add on an oil pressure gauge and not just have oil temp all you have to do is get another sensor and hook it up to the gauge. You can also hook it up to a gameboy advanced and display your sensors there.

  • 4 separate $40 gauges = $160 + mounting 4 holes in your dash + cluttered look
  • 1 Flock Gauge = one 52mm hole and up to four sensor readings. Select a Sensor (Style) option above for the current configuration price. Additional sensors and installation adapters depend on your setup.

You're paying for:

  • Flexibility (add new sensors without new gauges)
  • Dash real estate (one gauge vs. four)
  • The aesthetic (Gameboy vibe that matches 90s cars)
  • Anti-gatekeeping (I'm not marking this up 500% like traditional gauge companies)

What can I customize?

  • Custom Background Images
  • Custom Needle for analog gauge
  • Custom colors
  • Screen layouts (choose what data displays)
  • Sensor naming (call it whatever you want)
  • Display modes (single sensor, multi-sensor, scrolling)
  • Warning thresholds (set your own alerts)

Full control: You decide what your gauge shows and how. Want oil temp front and center? Done. Want it to cycle through boost → oil temp → coolant temp every 5 seconds? Done. Want to name sensors something funny? Go for it.

Coming soon: Custom startup animations. (Follow @flock_mfg for updates)

How does the GBA adapter work?

The GBA (Gameboy Advance) adapter lets you use Flock Gauge as a functional gauge with a completely stock Gameboy Advance. It loads a custom ROM (Game) onto the GBA through the link cable at bootup and then reads data from the gauge.

Real talk: The GBA adapter is 20% functional, 80% vibe.

  • Functional: Yes, it works as a real gauge on the GBA
  • Practical: Kind of, the screen is a decent size on the GBA
  • Vibes: Yes

Who it's for: People who want the ultimate retro build aesthetic. Most customers stick with the 52mm dash mount because it's easier to read while driving.

Honestly? I built this because I thought it was cool. If you want maximum practicality, get the standard version. If you like the vibes, get the GBA adapter.

Do you support custom PIDs with OBDII?

Yes. Flock Gauge supports 80+ standard OBD-II PIDs plus custom PIDs for manufacturer specific sensors.

Stock car? On a supported stock CAN-bus vehicle, the Flock OBD-II adapter reads data made available by the ECU. Available PIDs and readings vary by vehicle; confirm compatibility and the readings you need before ordering.

Will the gauge work with stock sensors?

On supported stock CAN-bus vehicles, the current Flock OBD-II adapter can read factory sensor data made available by the ECU. An OBD-II port or model year alone does not confirm support.

You have options:

Option 1 - OBD-II on a supported vehicle:

  • Use the Flock OBD-II adapter
  • Read available ECU data, such as RPM, coolant temperature or speed, depending on the vehicle
  • Confirm vehicle, protocol and desired readings before ordering

Option 2 - Compatible independent sensors:

  • Wire compatible sensors directly to the gauge for readings such as oil pressure, oil temperature or boost
  • Check your selected configuration for the included sensor or adapter; additional sensors are available separately
  • Check sensor wiring, mounting and vehicle-specific installation adapters
