The 2.7L twin-turbo V6 deserves its own setup rather than the four-cylinder Bronco’s page. Its automatic transmission makes transmission-fluid temperature useful alongside engine cooling readings.

Use one Flock 52mm Gauge with the OBD-II setup available on the Flock gauge product page. The readings returned by your vehicle determine which display options you can use.

What to monitor on this engine

For longer trail days, start with coolant and intake-air temperature. Add oil temperature, oil pressure and automatic transmission-fluid temperature to keep engine and gearbox readings together on one display.

Installation approach

Position the display where it remains visible on an uneven trail without covering factory controls. Secure the adapter and its cable so they cannot be kicked loose when entering the taller cabin.

Start with standard OBD-II readings such as coolant temperature or RPM, then add custom manufacturer-specific PIDs in the gauge settings. You can also connect wired sensors to display additional measurements.

Custom PID settings

The following OBDb custom PID definitions are compatible with the current Flock firmware. Enter the request, CAN header, formula and unit shown below in the gauge’s custom-PID settings.

Engine oil temperature
  • Request: 221310
  • CAN header: 7E0
  • Formula: (A*256+B)/100-40
  • Unit: C
Oil pressure
  • Request: 220415
  • CAN header: 7E0
  • Formula: (A-256*floor(A/128))*256+B
  • Unit: kPa
Transmission fluid temperature, variant 1
  • Request: 221674
  • CAN header: 7E0
  • Formula: (A*256+B)/8
  • Unit: F

Configure your gauge
