This page covers the early aluminum-body F-150 with the 2.7L EcoBoost V6. Later engine revisions and the 3.5L EcoBoost should have separate entries rather than sharing a generic F-150 claim.

Use one Flock 52mm Gauge with the OBD-II setup available on the Flock gauge product page. The readings returned by your vehicle determine which display options you can use.

What to monitor on this engine

A towing-focused view can start with coolant and intake-air temperature, then include transmission-fluid temperature. Oil pressure and oil temperature add engine information without requiring another display.

Installation approach

Place the gauge where it is readable with the truck’s seating and steering positions set for the driver. Secure the adapter in the lower dash area and check the connection through normal starts and stops.

Start with standard OBD-II readings such as coolant temperature or RPM, then add custom manufacturer-specific PIDs in the gauge settings. You can also connect wired sensors to display additional measurements.

Custom PID settings

The following OBDb custom PID definitions are compatible with the current Flock firmware. Enter the request, CAN header, formula and unit shown below in the gauge’s custom-PID settings.

Oil pressure
  • Request: 220415
  • CAN header: 7E0
  • Formula: (A-256*floor(A/128))*256+B
  • Unit: kPa
Transmission temperature
  • Request: 221E1C
  • CAN header: 7DF
  • Formula: (A*256+B)/16
  • Unit: C
Transmission pressure, commanded
  • Request: 221E1A
  • CAN header: 7E0
  • Formula: ((A-256*floor(A/128))*256+B)*2
  • Unit: kPa

Configure your gauge

Use the Flock user manual for setup and custom-PID configuration. The gauge displays whole-number OBD readings.
