A Taurus SHO setup should emphasize turbo-engine heat during repeated acceleration and a useful automatic-transmission reading.
What to monitor on this engine
Coolant temperature and RPM are practical first readings for this engine. Add intake-air temperature for a view of intake heat under repeated load. If you display pressure, keep absolute manifold pressure distinct from boost relative to atmosphere. An automatic-transmission temperature reading belongs to the automatic gearbox; it should not be labeled as a manual-gearbox reading.
Installation approach
Choose a mount visible over the steering-wheel rim without hiding the factory warning lamps. Fit the mount from your normal seating position before fixing it in place.
Connect the OBD-II adapter at the vehicle diagnostic connector and secure its cable along fixed trim. Leave the connector accessible for servicing. Follow the Flock user manual for gauge power, adapter setup and wired-sensor connections.
Custom PID settings
These OBDb definitions fit the current Flock firmware. Enter the request, CAN header, formula and unit shown below in the gauge’s custom-PID settings.
Transmission temperature
- Request:
221E1C - CAN header:
7DF - Formula:
(A*256+B)/16 - Unit: C
Transmission pressure, commanded
- Request:
221E1A - CAN header:
7E0 - Formula:
((A-256*floor(A/128))*256+B)*2 - Unit: kPa
Configure your gauge
The gauge displays whole-number OBD readings. For temperature definitions labeled C, use the gauge’s temperature preference to choose Celsius or Fahrenheit.
