Flock Companion Support
Need help with Flock Companion? Email hello@flock-mfg.com with your phone model, operating-system version, app version, gauge firmware version and a description of what happened.
Before connecting
You need a Flock Gauge running firmware that supports the companion phone connection. Spotify display requires the FD02 phone-display protocol. Older firmware may not support these features; contact us if you are unsure which update to use. Configure the app while parked.
- Power on your gauge. Hold a gauge button to open its menu.
- Enable Flock Chirp in Quick Settings (or Phone Wi-Fi / Speed Limit on firmware with those labels).
- Open Flock Companion and tap Connect to gauge. Read the location disclosure and allow the required permissions.
- Join Flock Chirp when prompted. Keep cellular data on for internet-dependent features; the gauge Wi-Fi does not provide internet access.
If the gauge is not found
Confirm Flock Chirp is enabled and the phone is near the gauge. Check local-network access on iOS, or precise-location and nearby-Wi-Fi access on Android. Disconnect a second phone that may already be using the gauge, then try again. Open gauge settings only when the gauge is in Settings Mode.
GPS speed and road limits
Allow precise location for GPS speed. On Android, the driving notification indicates an active session. Disconnect Wi-Fi in the app when finished, or use Android's notification Stop action. Road-limit lookup requires a configured HTTPS road-data service and cellular data; the current release configuration has no default production service. Missing road data must not be treated as a road's legal speed limit. Follow posted signs and drive to the conditions.
Spotify
Install Spotify and sign in, then open Spotify in Flock Companion and choose Connect Spotify. Spotify availability depends on account eligibility and the registered integration. Keep Flock visible while displaying Spotify on the gauge; background or locked-phone Spotify display is not supported. Playback continues in Spotify when the display stops. Use Disconnect Spotify in the app to end the connection; revoke authorization from your Spotify account's Apps page if desired.
Data and privacy
Read the Flock Companion privacy policy. App diagnostic logs remain on the phone and benchmark reports are shared only when you choose. Include a report in a support email only if you are comfortable sharing it.
